About Wild Island Exploration
- Stay for a week, in a timber cabin, on the shore of a Private Island, on a 700-acre Scottish Highland Estate.
- Swim like a mermaid with dolphins, porpoises and seals.
- Creep as close as you can to wild deer and otters and nesting seabirds.
- Swing like a monkey on our high ropes challenges.
- Wallow like a hippo in our deep squishy gooey gluey mud-pits.
- Explore and beach comb along storm-swept sea-shores and among rippling rock pools.
- Tip-toe fearfully into cool spooky dripping prehistoric caves.
- Canoe like an Eskimo round peaceful sheltered lagoons, or out on the rolling Atlantic Ocean.
- Roar and bounce across the High Seas on our powerful jet-propelled speedboats.
- Fish for fascinating sea-creatures like mackerel and saith, lobsters, langoustines and octopus.
- Learn how to live off the land and how to survive a shipwreck, like Robinson Crusoe.
- Build yourself a den on an uninhabited island, and stay the night in it.
- Dare yourself to get up our Rock Climbs, and down our Abseil Cliffs, with our Qualified Instructors.
- Scramble like a mountain goat to wild island summits, where buzzards swoop and eagles soar.
- Join 40 other Wilderness Explorers, aged 9 to 16, on this unique, life enhancing, educational experience.
- Come for a week, any time between May and September.
All this with Expert Individual Instruction and scrupulous attention to Safety. And you do not need any previous experience to take part.
Wild Island`s purposeful and life-enhancing Courses are run on a "Big Family" basis by Torquil and Margaret Johnson-Ferguson, with their three children, and their team of expert staff.
Wild Island Exploration was established by Torquil Johnson-Ferguson in 1976, and is one of Europe`s most genuinely adventurous Activity Centre for unaccompanied youngsters.
